Great authentic Malaysian cuisine, always visit here since they still at Central Market. Char kuey toew and curry chicken was so tasty and got wokhey. But this new lactate shop was so small, only 5 tables and only can fix around 12-15 seats and was so busy at weekends night, probably need wait 20-40 mins for be seated.

Chef J***** has been in the Adelaide food scene for decades. His Chicken rice, Char Kway Teow, Malay fried chicken, Roti Canai, Fish head vermicelli noodle soup, Teh Tarik, are our favrouites. A must try if you are into Malay-Chinese food.

If you're craving bold, authentic asian flavours, this spot hits the mark!!! i ordered their signature char kway teow by dd and it tasted soooo gewd!! every dishes has their wok hay!! smells smoky and addictive, love it!!! the whole place has the humble small kitchen running by a small family. but the food is really no joke, could call it as one of hidden gems. i never seen any places sell bak kut teh (or maybe i'm still new here) so first time tried their Bak Kut Teh it taste good! could just conquered your BKT craving. not as good as i used to have in my hometown, but could considered as good in adelaide! Hope you guys have Dry version of Bak Kut Teh anytime soon! i will be the first one in line to get that hahaha! I can see some of the reviews were not really happy about the service, well if you are from an asian country, it feels normal hahaha, so all i could say is just enjoy the food, forget about friendly services. I also think that this restaurant needs to provide more seats, since seating drama happens everytime i visit...

Always my go to place for authentic Malaysian meals. Ran by a family the quality and service has always been top notch. Would definitely recommend the fished noodles, laksa, and prawn noodle soup.

I ate at the formerly known Kopi Tim restaurant for over 10 years and was so devastated when I found out they were closing. I’m so beyond happy they now have Lai’s Pantry! By far the BEST Malay food in Adelaide. More than happy to make the drive from far southern suburbs to get a feed from here. Does not disappoint

Have some take aways and they are great. The place is quite small so takeaway is ideally, call them to order and pickup after 20mins. Great value (13 -16$/main) and generally good quality. Chicken rice is the best!!! Amazing flavour, very authentic and generous portion. 1 portion can nicely feed 2 ppl. The rice was nicely cooked, not too dry, not too soggy, the chicken was very juicy. A must!!! Beef satay is also very outstanding, one of the best satay I have ever had. Highly recommended!!! Char Koay Teow is flavorful and nice wok hei aroma but very oily Laksa is ok, a bit lack of flavour, but the size is very generous too. Look forward to trying other things ***Updated: Yes I tried the other things later. We have the shallot cakes, dry pan mee, dry wonton noodles, beef rendang (main serve) with coconut rice and nasi goreng (stir fried rice) They are all very very delicious, I like all of them, except for the beef randang (it was a bit too salty and the beef was crumbly, like, it was tender enough but kind of dry mouth feeling. The photos didn’t do their justice but they are all flavourful, full of food and cheap. Couldn’t ask for more
